Find the Right Books for Your Kids

Virtual Parent Meetup
Jaguar Service Night
Thur., 1/14 @ 7 PM

Mrs. Greene (Johnson Librarian) and Ms. Zides (Johnson Literacy Specialist) joins our parent meetup on to help us support students in finding the right books and answer frequently asked questions like,

  • How do students access books (digital and hard copies), especially during Covid?

  • How can I get my reluctant reader to WANT to read?

  • How can I get my child reading more outside of school?

  • How can I establish a routine of reading at home?

  • What if my child only wants to read graphic novels?

Johnson PTO Board Changes

These unusual times have encouraged the Johnson PTO Board to look to the future and make changes that benefit our shared mission and vitality moving forward. To that end, the Board has voted to dissolve several positions and instead institute a collaborative, shared approach to leadership.

Beginning January 2021, the PTO Board will consist of,

  • Chairperson

  • Treasurer

  • School Principal

  • 3-5 individuals committed to serving in the best interests of Johnson students, teachers, parents, caregivers and the community

Board members need to commit to participating in monthly Board meetings where school needs are discussed and volunteer to lead, co-lead or direct one initiative per year. These include highly-valued events such as the Teacher Appreciation Lunch, the Fall Pawprint campaign, the Fall Fun Fair, The Holiday Bazaar, a Community Service Project, the Johnson Auction and the Spring Social. All other tasks will be distributed and shared across the Board based on availability, skill sets, etc.

The Board needs new members in order to offer the support and programs we've all come to love and appreciate as part of the Jaguar way. If you are interested in joining the Board and enjoy a collaborative approach to service, please email We can't wait to meet you!
