Community Events

Johnson is a community of families who love and support its students. Johnson prides itself in being a school that celebrates its community.

The PTO sponsors several events throughout the year that allow students and their families to socialize in a fun and relaxed environment.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Johnson Flicks

On select early dismissal days, the PTO offers children the opportunity to come to the gym to eat pizza and to watch a movie with their friends. There is a per child fee for this lunch program and you must sign up before the day of the movie. The PTO coordinates with the class-parents to find volunteers to run each movie day.

Annual School Aid Auction

The biggest fundraiser of the year is also a fabulous night out for the community. Parents have a great time socializing (without kids!), bidding on items, and dancing. There is something to fit everyone's budget - gym memberships, spa visits, special time with teachers for your child, summer camps, special outings, tickets to sporting events and more! Don't miss the social highlight of the year!! For more information, read the auction FAQ.

Holiday Bazaar

The annual Bazaar is an opportunity to get together and have a great time while doing some holiday shopping. Crafts available for purchase from local artisans as well as kid's crafts, cookie decorating, photo booth and the coveted class raffle baskets.

Fall Fun Fair

The fall fun fair has always been a fun gathering for the community. It has games, the famous cake walk, inflatable obstacle course, face painting, prizes, food and frisbee golf!

Spring Picnic

As the school year comes to a close, this is an opportunity to spend some time with your Johnson friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring a picnic dinner or purchase Casey's hot dogs and enjoy free slushies, karaoke, chalk, bubbles and more!

Book Fair

There are two book fairs this year with Park St. books - the first on December 11 and the second is the popular "One Day in May" on May 19. Park St. Books is a family owned, local bookstore in Medfield. The owners will "set up shop" at Johnson and children can shop during school hours as well as shop with their parents before and after school. Johnson School PTO earns a significant percentage of the sale of these books.

Ice Cream Social

Enjoy a delicious ice cream sundae with the Johnson community. While you're at school, stop by the Book Fair and pick out a new book or two. Two great events on the same night! Free!

Restaurant Nights

This is such a fun and social way to support your school. Just go out to eat at the sponsoring restaurant on the scheduled day and time and a portion of your bill will go back to Johnson PTO. Each restaurant offers slightly different programs, whose details will be listed as the dates are booked. Think about a night away from cooking and dishes! Please look at the weekly blasts, the website calendar and the website homepage for upcoming restaurant events.

Game Night

Calling all kids and parents who like playing games! The PTO will provide milk, cookies and some games. Bring your game skills and a game to play with friends, if you wish. This is a free family (not drop-off) event.

Open Gym Night

Tired of being inside all winter? Come to the Community Center for some active sports and games for the whole family. Fun, free and a great chance to get moving with your Jaguar friends.

Kindergarten Playdates and Coffee

The PTO hosts incoming Kindergarten playdates throughout the summer on the Johnson playground so that students and parents can meet, as well as provides coffee and snacks to all Kindergarten parents following drop-off on the first full day of Kindergarten.
